● On November 19, 2019, the Gansu Provincial Public Security Department held a press conference to introduce the state of the province ’s public security organs to centralize the fight against scrapped motor vehicles. As of November 18, the province had dispatched a total of 65,000 police forces, mobilized 16,000 heads of public security and traffic management stations, scrapped and cancelled 47,060 motor vehicles, and completed 50.35% of the total number of motor vehicles scrapped. In one third of the time, half of the tasks were completed, and the General Assembly campaign achieved staged results.
● Conference introduction: As of November 2019, the number of motor vehicles in the province reached 6.06 million, with 6.64 million drivers. With the impact of service life and missed inspection, 93,467 motor vehicles in the province have reached the mandatory scrap standard, and the number continues to increase every day. Illegal behaviors such as scrapping motor vehicles on the road, and buying and selling without permission have brought great hidden dangers to the road traffic safety environment and economic and social development in the province. The meeting pointed out that through this centralized clean-up and rectification, the hidden dangers at the source of scrapped vehicles will be eliminated to the greatest extent, road traffic safety accidents will be effectively prevented, and people's lives and property safety and public safety will be better maintained. It will explore experiences to strengthen the source supervision of scrapped vehicles and form a normalized management mechanism; it will promote consumption and reduce pollution, and play a positive role in serving the province's economic and social development.
