Situation And Problems Facing Environmental Supervision Of Hazardous Waste Recycling And Dismantling Of Scrap Motor Vehicles in China

According to data from the Traffic Administration of the Ministry of Public Security, the number of motor vehicles in my country will reach 372 million in 2020, about 6.5 times that of 2007. The number of motor vehicles has doubled, and the number of scrapped motor vehicles is also rising. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, the number of scrapped motor vehicles recovered and dismantled in 2020 was 2.398 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. As of the end of August 2021, the number of scrapped motor vehicle recycling and dismantling enterprises nationwide reached 894, an increase of 119 from the end of 2020. At present, my country's motor vehicle dismantling production capacity is about 1.5 million vehicles per year, and the actual scrapped motor vehicles have exceeded 13 million vehicles. It is estimated that by 2025, the actual number of scrapped motor vehicles in my country will exceed 15 million vehicles.
