1. Selection of Suitable Sealing Materials
Select sealing materials based on the interface type and characteristics of the waste oil. Prioritize high-quality materials that are corrosion-resistant, oil-resistant, and anti-aging, such as specialized rubber sealing rings, PTFE gaskets, and oil-resistant sealants. Ensure the material is chemically compatible with the stored waste oil to prevent swelling and cracking due to incompatibility. Also, ensure the material is suitable for the interface's operating temperature and pressure environment to guarantee long-term sealing stability and prevent leakage caused by material failure.
2. Interface Structure Cleaning and Pre-treatment
Before sealing, thoroughly clean the interface surface to remove oil, rust, impurities, and aged sealant residue. Ensure the interface contact surface is smooth, flat, and free of scratches, dents, or burrs. For flange interfaces, check the flatness of the sealing surface and grind if necessary. For threaded interfaces, clean the threads to ensure a tight fit. After pre-treatment, keep the interface dry and clean to create favorable conditions for the sealing material to adhere.
3. Standardize Installation Procedures
When installing seals, ensure precise positioning, no misalignment or twisting of the contact surfaces, and that the sealing ring is fully embedded in the sealing groove, avoiding edge lifting. When tightening flange connections, use a symmetrical and even tightening method to ensure balanced pressure distribution and prevent localized loosening or overtightening that could lead to seal failure. For threaded connections, wrap with special sealing tape or apply an appropriate amount of oil-resistant sealant to enhance the sealing effect. After installation, check the closure of the interfaces to ensure there are no gaps or looseness.
4. Regular Maintenance and Leakage Inspection
Establish a regular inspection system, focusing on checking for signs of leakage at the interface seals and whether the seals are aged, hardened, or damaged. Replace aged sealing materials promptly based on usage to prevent material fatigue from affecting sealing performance. After loading, unloading, or tank relocation, additionally check the interface seals; if any potential leakage is found, immediately stop the machine and address the issue to ensure continued reliable sealing.
