1. Improve Grounding System Configuration
Equip oil storage tanks with reliable anti-static grounding devices, ensuring a secure and unwavering connection between the grounding electrode and the tank body, forming a complete conductive path for static electricity. The grounding device must be protected from factors that affect conductivity, such as rust and oil contamination. Regularly clean impurities at the connection points to ensure smooth static electricity discharge. Avoid pressure, breakage, or aging of the grounding lines; replace any damaged lines promptly to ensure the grounding system is always in effective working condition and prevent static electricity buildup on the tank surface.
2. Standardize Media Handling Procedures
Control the flow rate when adding or discharging media to avoid violent agitation and splashing within the tank, reducing static electricity generated by friction. Avoid using tools that easily generate static electricity during operation, and select conductive tubing and valves compatible with the media. Prohibit any work that may generate static electricity near the tank. Operators must wear anti-static clothing, anti-static shoes, and other protective equipment to prevent contact between the human body carrying static electricity and the tank, reducing static electricity generation at the source of operation.
3. Optimize Storage Environment Adaptation
Place oil storage tanks in a dry and well-ventilated area to avoid damp environments affecting grounding effectiveness or causing static electricity adsorption. Keep away from environments prone to static electricity buildup, such as those with dust and fibers, to prevent these substances from adhering to the tank surface and exacerbating static electricity hazards. Avoid storing flammable and explosive materials around the tank to reduce the possibility of static sparks causing danger. Ensure the storage area is free from strong electric and magnetic field interference to guarantee the normal operation of the anti-static system.
4. Strengthen Daily Inspections and Patrols
Regularly verify the reliability and conductivity of the grounding device connections, and use professional methods to test whether the grounding resistance meets safety requirements. Check the tank's sealing performance to prevent the volatile gases from mixing with air to form an explosive mixture, reducing the risk of static sparks. Pay attention to whether there is static-attracted dust or debris on the tank surface, and clean it promptly to maintain cleanliness. Regularly maintain anti-static related accessories, replace any aged or damaged parts promptly, and keep inspection records to form a closed-loop management system.
