1. Strengthen Tank Sealing Protection
Ensure the tank's sealing structure is intact. Regularly inspect key components such as seals, valves, and flange interfaces, and promptly replace aged or damaged sealing materials to prevent leakage of volatile gases from waste oil and the generation of odors. Manholes, inlet/outlet ports, and other openings must be tightly closed to avoid excessive contact with air. Optimize the sealing performance of tank heads and welds to reduce evaporation pathways and block odor diffusion at the source.
2. Regular Cleaning and Maintenance
Perform a thorough cleaning of the tank regularly, promptly removing residual waste oil and bottom sediment to prevent long-term accumulation and spoilage that can produce odors. Use environmentally friendly cleaning agents to clean the inner walls of the tank, removing attached oil, adhesives, and other contaminants to reduce odor sources. After cleaning, ensure the tank is free of residual dirt and keep the inner walls dry and clean to reduce the possibility of bacterial growth and oil deterioration.
3. Optimize Ventilation and Gas Control
Maintain good ventilation in the waste oil tank storage area to ensure timely dispersion of volatile gases and prevent accumulation that can generate strong odors. If necessary, equip the tank with activated carbon adsorption devices or gas purification equipment to adsorb and filter volatile harmful gases and purify the surrounding air. Regularly replace the gas inside the tank to reduce the accumulation of flammable and odorous gases, while avoiding excessive ventilation that could lead to impurities entering the tank.
4. Standardized Storage and Operation Management
Strictly separate storage media to avoid chemical reactions and odor generation caused by mixing different types of waste oil. Loading and unloading operations should be fast and efficient, minimizing tank opening time and reducing the leakage of volatile gases. Storage areas should be located away from densely populated areas, and ambient temperature should be controlled to prevent high temperatures from accelerating waste oil volatilization and deterioration. It is strictly forbidden to pile up odor-producing or flammable and explosive materials around the tank area; maintain a clean environment.
