Regularly removing sludge and impurities from the bottom of the Steel Diesel Fuel Storage Tank is crucial for maintaining oil purity and extending equipment life. A scientific cleaning process effectively prevents accelerated corrosion and filter clogging. The cleaning plan is detailed in four steps below:
1. Preparation and Emptying
Before commencing work, all remaining diesel fuel in the Steel Diesel Fuel Storage Tank must be completely removed to a spare container. Then, open all manhole covers for natural ventilation and use explosion-proof fans for forced ventilation to ensure the concentration of flammable gases inside the tank is reduced to a safe level. Personnel must wear full anti-static protective clothing and breathing equipment, and a dedicated person must monitor the entrance, strictly preventing any source of ignition from approaching the site.
2. High-Pressure Washing and Loosening
Using professional high-pressure water guns or steam cleaning equipment, thoroughly wash the inner walls and bottom plate of the Steel Diesel Fuel Storage Tank. Pay special attention to impacting the sludge adhering to corners and welds, softening and loosening any hardened deposits. For stubborn stains, use a specialized environmentally friendly cleaning agent to soak and decompose them. Strong acid and alkali solvents that may damage the anti-corrosion coating are strictly prohibited to avoid damaging the tank's protective layer.
3. Waste Cleaning and Recycling
After the sediment has been completely loosened, use an explosion-proof vacuum truck or manual shovel to thoroughly remove the sludge from the Steel Diesel Fuel Storage Tank. During the cleaning process, pay attention to sorting and collecting waste. Oily waste must be placed in dedicated sealed containers; it is strictly forbidden to dump or discharge it into the rainwater drainage system. All removed contaminants must be handed over to a qualified hazardous waste treatment unit for harmless disposal to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
4. Drying, Inspection, and Reinstallation
After waste removal, the interior of the Steel Diesel Fuel Storage Tank must be thoroughly dried to prevent residual moisture from causing new corrosion. Technicians should enter the tank to carefully inspect the bottom plate for corrosion and the integrity of the coating. Any damage must be repaired immediately. Only after confirming that the interior is clean, dry, and free of safety hazards can the manhole be sealed, pipe connections restored, and qualified diesel fuel refilled for operation.
