1. Strictly Control Ignition Sources
Open flames are strictly prohibited within the storage tank area. Hot work operations must adhere to a strict approval process. Before any work begins, all surrounding flammable materials must be thoroughly cleared and appropriate protective measures implemented. All equipment entering the area must be explosion-proof, including lighting, motors, and instruments, to prevent electrical sparks during operation. Personnel management must be strengthened; carrying fire sources and wearing synthetic clothing are prohibited to prevent hazards caused by static electricity or sparks.
2. Enhance Static Electricity Control
Storage tanks and related pipelines and equipment must be properly equipped with static grounding devices to ensure grounding resistance meets standards and to promptly dissipate accumulated static electricity. When using loading arms or similar equipment for loading and unloading operations, a reliable connection between the loading arm and the storage tank must be ensured to prevent static electricity generation from liquid impact. Control the loading and unloading flow rate to avoid high flow rates that increase friction between the liquid and pipelines, thereby reducing the risk of static electricity buildup and sparks.
3. Optimize Ventilation and Pressure Relief
The storage tank area must be equipped with appropriate ventilation facilities to maintain air circulation, reduce gasoline vapor concentration, and prevent reaching the explosion limit. Qualified safety valves and breather valves are installed on the top of the storage tank to ensure timely pressure relief in case of abnormally high internal pressure, preventing the tank from rupturing and leaking due to excessive pressure. Ventilation and pressure relief equipment should be inspected regularly to ensure they are in good working order and to prevent equipment malfunctions from accumulating risks.
4. Strengthen Monitoring and Early Warning
A gasoline vapor concentration monitoring device is installed to monitor the vapor concentration in the storage tank area and inside the tank in real time, issuing an early warning signal when the concentration approaches the critical value. Dedicated personnel are assigned to conduct regular inspections, checking the tank body, valves, pipelines, etc., for leaks, and addressing any potential hazards promptly. A comprehensive emergency response mechanism is established, with sufficient fire-fighting equipment and emergency supplies to ensure rapid and effective handling of emergencies and prevent the accident from escalating.
