1. Choose the Right Storage Location
The storage site should be located in a high-lying, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from fire sources, heat sources, and flammable and explosive materials, and protected from direct sunlight. The ground should be flat and hard with good drainage to prevent rainwater from soaking the tank and causing corrosion. It should also be away from densely populated areas and underground pipelines, with sufficient maintenance and emergency space to ensure a safe and compliant storage environment and minimize the impact of the external environment on the tank.
2. Ensure Proper Tank Sealing
Before storage, check the tank's sealing performance to ensure valves and interfaces are tightly sealed. Close all inlet and outlet valves to prevent fuel evaporation or impurities from entering. Regularly check the double-layer gap sealing and monitoring system, ensuring the monitoring equipment is functioning properly and promptly identifying and addressing any potential leaks. If long-term static storage is required, the tank must be sealed to prevent moisture and impurities from entering the tank, affecting fuel quality and tank lifespan.
3. Standardize Fuel Storage Management
Stored fuel must meet the tank's rated capacity standards to avoid over-storage leading to excessive pressure, and allow sufficient expansion space to cope with temperature changes. Different types of fuel should not be mixed to prevent chemical reactions that could affect performance. Regularly test fuel quality and promptly remove any sediment or impurities to prevent corrosion of the tank interior. Maintain accurate storage records, tracking fuel storage time and condition, and prioritize the use of fuels with longer storage periods.
4. Strengthen Regular Inspection and Maintenance Regularly inspect the tank's exterior, checking for any damage, peeling, or rust on the outer anti-corrosion layer. Check the operating status of monitoring systems, valves, interfaces, and other components, promptly replacing aged seals and damaged parts. Regularly clean debris around the tank, maintain good ventilation, and take precautions against rain and moisture during the rainy season and freezing in winter. Perform periodic maintenance according to the user manual to ensure the tank is always in good storage condition.
