1. Strengthen Tank Sealing Protection
Seal all tank openings, including manhole covers, valve interfaces, and measuring ports. Use appropriate sealing gaskets and rings to ensure a tight, seamless fit. Regularly inspect the condition of sealing components and replace any aged, deformed, or damaged parts promptly to prevent seal failure and the ingress of contaminants. During operation, close the sealing device immediately after opening to prevent prolonged exposure and the entry of dust, insects, fallen leaves, and other debris. During transportation or movement, reinforce the sealing areas to prevent loosening due to bumps.
2. Standardize Media Transfer Control
Before adding media, clean the filling tools and transfer conduits to ensure they are free of residual impurities, dust, or oil. Install an appropriate filter at the filling port to pre-filter the media, intercepting solid particles, suspended solids, and other impurities. Avoid using contaminated media; verify the purity of the media before storage to prevent impurities from entering the tank with the media. During transfer, prevent the conduit from dragging on the ground or coming into contact with debris; keep the transfer path clean to reduce the risk of secondary contamination.
3. Optimize Storage Environment Management
Place oil storage tanks in clean, level areas, away from construction areas, dust sources, and areas with accumulated debris. Regularly clean the area around the tanks, removing dust, fallen leaves, gravel, and other debris to prevent wind or external forces from causing debris to enter the tanks. For tanks stored outdoors, install protective covers or sunshades at the openings to prevent debris from falling in and reduce rainwater seepage. Avoid piling unrelated items around the tanks and keep the surrounding environment clean and orderly.
4. Strengthen Daily Inspection and Maintenance
Regularly inspect the tank's sealing components and filter devices, cleaning debris trapped on the filter screen to ensure proper filtration function. Check tank interfaces, valves, and other areas prone to debris entry, repairing any gaps or damage promptly. Observe the state of the medium inside the tank; if sedimentation, turbidity, or other abnormalities are found, promptly investigate and address the source of the debris. Clean the surface and surrounding area of the tank to prevent debris from falling into the tank during operation or environmental changes, establishing a routine protection mechanism.
